Black Conservatives Join To Warn Fellow Believers About Making Skin Color Top Priority In Presidential Election

While polls indicate up to 96% of U.S. black voters plan to vote for Sen. Barack Obama for president, a growing number of black conservative leaders are exhorting Christians not to vote based on skin color but on character. The latest edition of Freedom’s Journal Magazine poses the question, “Are we more Black than Christian?” is published in the liberal Democrat’s South Side Chicago backyard. It warns that Black America could be harmed if Sen. Obama emerges victorious on November 4.

“Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream that future generations be judged by the content of their character would be set back decades if Obama wins based on racial loyalty alone. Obama’s skewed approach to traditional Judeo-Christian values and his obvious inexperience in leading through times of crisis would spell disaster for the black community and our nation as a whole,” Dr. Eric Wallace, founder of Wallace Multimedia Group, LLC and Freedom’s Journal Magazine said.

“Christians who are tempted to support Barack because of a feeling that we aren’t doing enough to fight poverty, racism or sexism, etc. need to realize that the government cannot (and should not) do the work of the Church,” Dr. Wallace states in his editorial, “Unto the Least of These.” “As a matter of fact, government will, in almost every case, limit what can be done.”
